Dan Ruys Inducted Into WVC Hall of Fame (4-8-22)
Unrecruited coming out of Kimberly High School, Dan Ruys became one of the best middle blockers to ever play in the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference through a tremendous work ethic and unmatched competitiveness.

Competing for UW-Oshkosh (2008-2013), Ruys helped lead the Titans to the 2011 National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Division I national championship, a 2009 national runner-up result and third-place national finishes in both 2012 & 2013.

For his efforts he was selected a 2011 & 2013 NCVF Division I First-Team All-American.

During his time with UW-Oshkosh, the team reached unprecedented heights in the WVC. The Titans were the regular season champions for five consecutive years (2009-2013) and won the 2009, 2011 & 2012 WVC State Tournament Championship. Individually, Ruys was named WVC First-Team All-Conference in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013.

In 2011 he was selected the WVC State Championship Most Valuable Player and was named to the six-person 2012 WVC State Championship team.

Offensively and defensively he fiercely patrolled the front court proven by leading the WVC in blocks per set in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 and in hitting percentage in 2010 & 2011.

Academically he was a 2012 & 2013 WVC Scholar Athlete of the Year nominee and took home the prestigious 2012 WVC Leif Storvik Award.

Outside of the WVC he was a Midwest Ten Conference First-Team honoree in 2011, 2012 & 2013 and a 2010 & 2011 Las Vegas Open All-Tournament Team selection.

Known for being a great teammate and leader, he was the Titans’ team captain in 2011, 2012 & 2013 and its team president in 2011 & 2012.
