Austin Marshall to Join UW-Oshkosh Men's Volleyball Team (12-27-16)
Austin Marshall became the men's volleyball team's third 2017-2018 commitment after announcing that he has decided to attend UW-Oshkosh and join the program said head coach Brian Schaefer.
Marshall, a 6-1 left side hitter from Greenfield played for head coach Kurt Kempfer for the Greenfield/Whitnall program. He was named honorable mention All-Woodland Conference playing for the Raptors and the most valuable player of his team.
"UW-Oshkosh is the perfect place to play volleyball while getting a great education," said Marshall when asked why he choose to become a Titan.
Marshall, a high honor roll student at Whitnall High School is the son of Tim and Lori Marshall and will pursue nursing at UW-Oshkosh. He has also been a stand-out pole vaulter for his high school track team the last three seasons heading into his senior campaign.
"Austin is the typical hard-working player we like to get at UW-Oshkosh," said Schaefer "Matt Maciejewski, a former Titan is Austin's assistant coach and had glowing reviews on his work-ethic and potential. To be an elite volleyball player, as well as pole vaulter you need strength and speed. It will be exciting to get Austin into the gym and see where his athleticism takes him at UW-Oshkosh."
Marshall joins Matt Aussem (Nicolet High School) and Adam Branch (Downers Grove South High School) as future UW-Oshkosh players in the class of 2017-2018.
