UW-Oshkosh II Wins 14th Straight WVC Division II Regular Season Title (4-2-16)
The UW-Oshkosh II men's volleyball team captured the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Division II regular season title for a historic 14th straight year by going 3-1 during the WVC state championship to finish up the conference slate. The Titans went 13-1 during the regular season to take the crown by one match over UW-Oshkosh III.
The Titans beat Carroll University 25-13, 25-23, Maranatha Baptist University 25-8, 25-14 and Carroll University II 25-10, 25-11 to guarantee themselves first place before losing to UW-Oshkosh III 19-25, 25-19, 15-10 in the regular season finale.
John Collins (Fr. - New Berlin), Tony Mack (Jr. - Muskego) and Michael Starzec (Sr. - Buffalo Grove, Ill.) led the Titans against Carroll University with five kills each. Adam Landgraf (Sr. - Kenosha) dished out 19 assists and led the team with seven digs. Alex Harty (Jr. - Racine) added six digs and Zach Tazalla (Sr. - Whitefish Bay) provided five digs.
In the win over Maranatha Baptist University, Mack slammed down eight kills and Mitch Lahmann (Sr. - Wauwatosa) tallied five service aces. Landgraf dialed up 17 assists and two blocks and Braeden Melton (Sr. - Beloit) had two blocks.
Nine Titans had two or more kills in the win over Carroll University II. Landgraf dished out 19 assists, Mack had five service aces and Collins had four as the Titans had 12 service aces in the match.
UW-Oshkosh II was led by Mack with 11 kills against UW-Oshkosh III. Landgraf ran the offensive with 32 assists and seven digs and Harty had 14 digs. Melton had seven blocks and Tazalla had six kills, four digs and two blocks.
