Hudson Leads Titans WVC All-Conference Honorees (4-3-16)
Travis Hudson (Sr. = Wauwatosa) was named the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career to highlight the list of UW-Oshkosh players named to the all-conference team that was announced at the WVC State Championship on Saturday (April 2) in Milwaukee.
Previously Hudson was named the WVC Newcomer of the Year in 2013 and the Co-Most Valuable Player in 2014. He has been named a First-Team All-Conference selection the last four years and led the conference in assists per set from the setting position.
Tyler Range (Sr. - Kenosha), a middle blocker, garnered his third straight WVC First-Team All-Conference nod and also led the conference with a .538 hitting percentage. Wesley Morioka (Sr. - Chicago, Ill.) also was named to his third straight First Team All-Conference honor as a six-rotation left side hitter. Right side hitter Allen Grunert (Jr. - Muskego) was named First-Team All-Conference for the second consecutive year and Eaven Mason (Fr. - Milwaukee) was named the WVC Newcomer of the Year as a middle blocker.
Other award winners for the Titans were libero Sam Moua (Jr. - Appleton) who led the conference in digs per set and left side hitter Sammy Pedersen (Jr. - Muskego) who led the conference in service aces per set.
UW-Oshkosh ran the table in the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference with a perfect 16-0 record, while only losing three sets all season in the league. It was the Titans eighth straight WVC regular season conference title.
"Hats off to our players for their accomplishments," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "We had another fantastic regular season and the players were awarded for their efforts throughout the course of the season."
