UW-Oshkosh II Slips by UW-Oshkosh III in WVC Action (3-29-16)
The UW-Oshkosh II men's volleyball team continued its undefeated Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Division II season with an exciting 22-25, 25-20, 25-20,20-25, 15-10 victory over UW-Oshkosh III on Monday (March 29) in Oshkosh.
UW-Oshkosh II (26-5 /10-0 WVC), ranked second in the latest National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Division III poll, now has a two match lead in the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Division II over Marquette University II and UW-Oshkosh III with four regular season matches remaining. UW-Oshkosh II is seeking its unprecedented 14th straight WVC Division II regular season title.
The Titans were led offensively by Michael Starzec (Sr. - Buffalo Grove, Ill.) who had 14 kills on 19 attempts. Tony Mack (Jr. - Muskego) added 13 kills, six digs and three blocks and Braeden Melton (Sr. - Beloit) piled up 11 kills and a team high four blocks.
Alex Harty (Jr. - Racine) had a team best 11 digs and Adam Landgraf (Sr. - Kenosha) directed the offense with 51 assists; while dialing up seven digs and three blocks. Mitch Lahmann (Sr. - Wauwatosa) knocked down nine kills, had two service aces and six digs and Jake Martin (Fr. - New Lenox, Ill.) finished the night with five digs. John Collins (Fr. - New Berlin) came off the bench to put down eight kills.
