UW-Oshkosh Sweeps UW-La Crosse (2-13-16)
UW-Oshkosh remained undefeated in the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference by sweeping UW-La Crosse in the first round of the WVC Play Date 25-15, 25-11, 25-15 on Saturday (Feb. 13) in La Crosse.
UW-Oshkosh (13-0 / 4-0 WVC), ranked #2 in the latest National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Division I poll, outmatched UW-La Crosse on the offense side of the ball hitting .636 on 46 kills. The Eagles entered the match ranked #3 in the NCVF Division II.
Alec Redlich (Sr. - Wauwautosa) and Tyler Range (Sr. - Kenosha) led the team with 10 kills, Wesley Morioka (Sr. - Chicago, Ill.) added nine kills and Allen Grunert (Jr. - Muskego) finished with eight kills. The Titans dominated at the net with 12 kills in set one, 18 in set two and 16 in set three.
Travis Hudson (Sr. - Wauwatosa) dished out 37 assists to pace the offense, Sammy Pedersen (Jr. - Muskego) tallied four service aces and Hudson, Sam Moua (Jr. - Appleton) and Redlich each had four digs.
At the net, Grunert and Range each had three blocks and Hudson added two stuffs. With the win the Titans have now won 49 straight matches.
