UW-Oshkosh Runs Table in Midwest Ten Conference (3-3-13)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team continued it supremacy over the Midwest Ten Conference by finishing the regular season undefeated and then capturing the conference tournament in matches held on Saturday (March 2) in DeKalb, Illinois.

UW-Oshkosh (32-1) entered play on Saturday with a one match lead over Marquette University in regular season contests. The Titans squared off with the Golden Eagles in the open round on Saturday and took care of business 25-20, 25-15 and then squeaked out a 25-18, 26-28, 16-14 victory over the University of Notre Dame to claim the title outright.

In the quarterfinals of the conference tournament the Titans dominated Iowa State University, 26-16, 25-17 and then beat Lakeland College for the fourth time this season, 25-15, 25-17 in the semifinals to reach the finals. A familiar foe greeted the Titans when the Irish outlasted UW-Milwaukee in the other semifinals in the third set. UW-Oshkosh didn't have as much resistance in the finals, beating the University of Notre Dame 25-22, 25-17 to claim the title.

For the day, Travis Hudson (Fr. - Wauwatosa) dished out 111 assists to lead the Titans offense. He added 24 digs, 11 kills and eight blocks. Nick Mueller (Sr. - Kenosha) provided a team best 40 kills on a .455 hitting percentage and had 21 digs. Jake Ahnert (So. - Burlington) led the team with 15 blocks and had 17 kills and Wesley Morioka (Fr. - Chicago, Ill.) had a team leading 36 digs.

Bill Meidenbauer (Sr. - Waukesha) collected 33 kills, 18 digs and seven blocks, Jordan Mattingly (Sr. - Kaukauna) 21 digs and six blocks and Dan Ruys (Gr. - Kimberly) 19 kills and 14 blocks. Shane Heyrman (So. - Green Bay) pitched in 12 kills on the day.

UW-Oshkosh's success in the Midwest Ten Conference is even more impressive considering six of the last eight collegiate club national champions have come from the conference with UW-Oshkosh capturing titles in 2006, 2007 and 2011, Lakeland College in 2010, Marquette University in 2005 and the University of Notre Dame in 2012. Further, the conference had runner-up finishes by UW-Oshkosh in 2005 and 2009, Lakeland College in 2007 and the University of Notre Dame in 2011. In its history, two conference opponents meet in the finals of the national championship on three occasions.
