UW-Oshkosh Rides Meidenbauer's Career Day to Remain Undefeated in WVC (3-1-13)
Bill Meidenbauer (Sr. - Waukesha) put on one of the most dominating performances in the history of the UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball program to lead the Titans to an 18-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-23 victory over Marquette University on Thursday (Feb. 28) in Milwaukee. The 6-4 outside hitter slammed down 27 kills in only 35 attempts for a .714 hitting percentage, while adding nine digs and two blocks in the victory. After losing their first set in WVC action, the Titans came back from a 21-24 deficit in set four to avoid a deciding stanza. Meidenbauer ended the match with four straight kills and at one point during the contest connected on 13 straight kill attempts. After a "slow" four kills in the first set, Meidenbauer had eight kills in set two and three and seven in the fourth period to finish with 27 put downs. UW-Oshkosh (27-1; 9-0 WVC) also received 15 kills on 20 attempts for a .750 hitting percentage from Shane Heyrman (So. - Green Bay) at the other outside hitting position. Travis Hudson (Fr. - Wauwatosa) established a career-high 51 assists and added four blocks. Dan Ruys (Gr. - Kimberly) added seven kills and five blocks, Wesley Morioka (Fr. - Chicago, Ill.) added a career-high 12 digs and Bob Hall (Sr. - Appleton) scooped up 11 digs.
