Muskego Duo to Join Titans (2-1-13)
Joe Kuchler and Sammy Pedersen, teammates at Muskego High School have decided to attend UW-Oshkosh and continue their playing careers in a Titans uniform announced head coach Brian Schaefer.
Kuchler, a 5-7 libero and Pedersen, a 6-0 left side hitter and defensive specialist, helped the Warriors to their second consecutive appearance at the WIAA state tournament in the fall of 2012. The duo was coached by Joe Arbinger.
Joe is the son of John and Catherine Kuchler and will major in health science at UW-Oshkosh. "I chose UW-Oshkosh because it provides me with an opportunity to excel in my studies as a health science major, as well as continue to play the sport I love," said Kuchler. "I am excited to become a Titan in the fall."
Sam is the son of Doug and Jane Pederson and will study physical therapy at UW-Oshkosh. He was named to the Classic 8 All-Conference second team his senior year and was a three time letter winner. He currently is a member of the Warriors basketball team and will continue his career on the baseball team later in the spring. A pitcher on the Muskego High School team, Pederson threw a no-hitter in 2011.
Pederson played three seasons with the Muskego Stars volleyball club.
"I like UW-Oshkosh because it offers a lot of different majors that allow me to keep my career options open," said Pederson. "I also like that their volleyball program has coaches that are really interested in developing the players and helping the teams continue to be successful."
"Both Joe and Sammy attending our camp this past summer and I instantly noticed their passion for the game," stated Schaefer. "Part of the reason Muskego High School was so successful is the fact that they have talent, but more importantly a group of guys that cared for each other. I am pleased that we have two of those players playing for us next season."
