Shea Inks Commitment to UW-Oshkosh (1-10-13)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team announced that 6-2 left side hitter Andrew Shea has decided to play for the Titans beginning in the 2013-2014 season announced head coach Brian Schaefer. Shea helped Brookfield High School to a 2012 WIAA sectional finals berth after winning the West Allis Central Tournament, the Hartland Arrowhead Invitational and the Whitefish Bay Invitational throughout his senior campaign as a Lancer. Participating in the always tough Great Metro Conference, Shea was a two-year varsity letter winner for head coach Ken Nash. "The UW-Oshkosh volleyball program has always taken pride in the development of players and that will be the case with Andrew," said Schaefer. "Andrew's team had an outstanding season putting Brookfield Central high school on the map and I have no doubt that he will continue making strides in his game in a Titans uniform." Currently he is playing multiple roles in the front court for head coach Jason Bungert on the Southwest Milwaukee Volleyball Club team. Shea, the son of Dan and Nancy, will study psychology at UW-Oshkosh. When asked why he chose UW-Oshkosh, Shea commented, "The psychology and volleyball program just stood out to me and it just fit."
