Van Deurzen Decides on UW-Oshkosh (1-10-13)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team is pleased to announce that Brady Van Deurzen, a 6-3 left side hitter from Kimberly High School has decided to continue his playing career in a Titans uniform announced head coach Brian Schaefer. Van Deurzen helped Kimberly High School to a runner-up finish in the Fox Valley Association in 2012, only trailing state champion Appleton North High School. The Papermakers, coached by Chris Seidl were ranked in the top ten in the state for most of the season and reached the WIAA sectional finals. "Brady is a gifted athlete that will bring power to our front row next season," said Schaefer. "He hits a high, heavy ball and I see him being a valuable member of our team in the future. With his strong work ethic and being surrounded by other great players his abilities will improve tremendously." Van Deurzen, a 2012 All-Fox Valley Association honorable mention selection is the son of Jay and Tammy, and the brother of Brock, a freshman defensive specialist on the UW-Oshkosh III team. He has been a member of the Kimberly High School academic honor roll all four years of high school and will enter UW-Oshkosh undecided on an intended major. He was a member of the Wisconsin Volleyball Academy Nightmares 17-1's team that qualified for club nationals and helped his team to the 2012 Badger Region Championship. "I choose UW-Oshkosh because they have great academics along with a great volleyball program," stated Van Deurzen.
