Brunelli Leads UW-Oshkosh II All-Conference Players (4-1-12)
Steve Brunelli, (Sr. - Greenfield) a left side hitter, joined Brandon Kirkland (2005, 2006) and Mike Cotter (2008) as UW-Oshkosh II Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Division II most valuable players announced at the WVC state championships on Friday (March 30) in Oshkosh. Brunelli, who previously was named to the 2011 WVC Division II state championship all-tournament team led the Titans to the regular season title for the 10th straight campaign. The Titans (32-3) also went undefeated at the WVC state championship and have not lost to a team from Wisconsin in over two seasons. Tyler Wiedenhoeft (Fr. - Mequon) joins a long list of UW-Oshkosh II players that have captured libero of the year honors. Wiedenhoeft accompanies Dan Krueger (2003), Brian Sigrist (2004), Jordan Jung (2005, 2006) and Jim Hall (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) as Titans that have won the prestigious award. Grabbing Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Division II first team honors for the second consecutive season was Andrew Nett (Sr. - Fond du Lac). Claiming the award last year as a middle blocker, Nett was honored as a right side hitter this season. Taking home their initial first-team all-conference honors were right side hitter Mitch Lahmann (Fr. - Wauwatosa) and middle blocker Brandon Wagner (Fr. - Mukwonago). Both played critical roles for the Titans during the year. Rounding out the all-conference selections for the Titans was Will Brydon (Sr. - Northbrook, Ill.) who was placed on the honorable mention team. Brydon helped the team to the 2011 and 2012 state championship titles and was named state championship most valuable player for his efforts.
