Titans Net Muskies (3-7-12)
Behind a strong blocking effort at the net, the UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team swept Wisconsin Volleyball Conference foe Lakeland College 25-22, 25-21, 25-20 on Tuesday (March 6) in Sheboygan.

UW-Oshkosh (22-2; 11-0 WVC), ranked third in the latest National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Division I national poll, had an astonishing 15 team blocks in the match.

Dan Ruys (Sr. - Kimberly), the WVC leader in blocks per set last season, led the Titans with eight in the match. Bill Meidenbauer (Sr. - Waukesha) added five, Zach Johnson (Jr. - Mequon) four and Tyler Boddy (Sr. - New Ulm, Minn.), Nick Mueller (Jr. - Kenosha) and Vince Odorizzi (Sr. - Pleasant Prairie) three.

UW-Oshkosh was led offensively by Meidenbauer who had 12 kills on a .440 hitting percentage. After a slow start in the opening set, Meidenbauer recorded five kills in each of the following two stanzas. Mueller added nine kills, Boddy seven and Ruys five on only seven attempts.

Andrew Schinner (Sr. - Mequon) finished with 32 assists, Jordan Mattingly (Sr. - Kaukauna) recorded six digs and Ruys and Boddy each had two service aces. The Titans picked up six service aces on 17 missed serves and were only aced three times in the match.
