#1 UW-Oshkosh Begins Season With Three Conference Wins (1-29-12)
The Titans took care of business at the WVC play date sweeping UW-Platteville, UW-Stout and UW-La Crosse in easy fashion on Saturday (Jan. 28) at UW-Oshkosh. The Titans were led by Dan Ruys (Sr. - Kimberly) in the match against UW-Platteville by slamming down 12 kills in only 14 attempts. Andy Schinner (Sr. - Mequon) provided 43 assists. Against UW-Stout Bill Meidenbauer (Sr. - Waukesha) had 10 kills and Tyler Boddy (Sr. - New Ulm, Minn.) had eight kills on 11 error less attempts. Bob Hall (Jr. - Appleton) dished out 37 assists and Zach Johnson (Jr. - Mequon) had five blocks and seven kills. In the win over UW-La Crosse five players had six or more kills as the Titans held the Eagles to under 18 points in all three sets.

The nationally number one ranked Titans (NCVF Division I) will play UW-Whitewater in a home WVC contest on Thursday (Feb. 2) at 8:00 p.m. before playing at Marquette University on Saturday (Feb. 4) at the Midwest Ten Conference Play Date. Action for the Titans begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. UW-Oshkosh will face UW-Milwaukee, Lakeland College, Iowa State University, Marquette University, Illinois State University and the University of Notre Dame. Last season the Titans were co-champions of the regular season and were the Midwest Ten Conference tournament champions. A key early season match-up will be against the Fighting Irish, the team UW-Oshkosh beat for its third Division I national title last season in the national championship match.
