UW-Oshkosh Announces Summer Volleyball Camp Schedule (3-17-11)
The UW-Oshkosh volleyball program will be offering one boys' individual camp this summer. "At UW-Oshkosh I believe that we have built a tradition of providing a great experience for volleyball players of all skill levels," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "We take the time to get to know you so we can make you the best player you can become. My assistant coaches and I are in the gym to make sure you are getting the best instruction possible. I would like to have the opportunity to show you our brand of volleyball at UW-Oshkosh, and I hope to see you here this summer." The Titans will hold a boys' elite camp for the tenth straight year for grades 7-12 from July 10-13, 2011. UW-Oshkosh is one of the best men's collegiate club programs in the nation, winning three national titles in 2006, 2007 and 2010 and taking runner-up honors in 2005 and 2009. Seven members of the 2010-2011 men's team were former UW-Oshkosh camp participants. Let former and current UW-Oshkosh players show you how they got to where they are with drills and techniques that will make you a better player. The camp will feature a camper to staff ratio of eight to one, will show hitting strategies for quick attack and transition, specific position sessions and offer a fours and team tournament.
The 2010 boys' camp saw 75 attendees making it ideal for participants to practice and play among others dedicated to the sport. The camp had participants from Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan and Minnesota. Once reaching tournament play on the last day of camp, one team of current UW-Oshkosh players will be put together to give you a chance to show your stuff against the Titans!
"I am happy to say this is the first time we have raised the price of our camps in five years," added coach Schaefer. "The reason for this increase is the fact that we can now offer air-conditioned lodging for our campers in one of our newly remodeled residence halls. We have had over 500 campers each year for four years running. It is not a secret that we take pride in giving you a great summer experience."
Registration deadline is five days prior to opening day for individual camps. Space is limited for some camps so please register early.
The fee per camp is all-inclusive; there are no extra charges. The fee includes a camp gift, awards, air-conditioned lodging (except for the specialty camp) and meals.
To have a brochure sent to you or if you have any questions please contact Coach Schaefer at (920) 424-1392 or the sports camp office at (920) 424-0294.
