Andy Collins Commits to UW-Oshkosh (12-7-06)
Andy Collins, a 6-3 middle blocker and right side hitter has decided to continue his education and play for the UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team announced head coach Brian Schaefer.

Collins becomes the third 2008 commitment for the Titans, joining Tyler Boddy and Andy Schinner as future UW-Oshkosh players.

Collins was a member of the Raiders Junior Olympic Volleyball Club coached by Kevin Scopoline and has attended the UW-Oshkosh summer camps for two years.

"Andy is a perfect fit for our program," said Schaefer. "Our program strives to give men the opportunity to play college volleyball and to get better. Andy fits this mold. He is athletic, competitive and will work hard every day in practice. I look forward to coaching Andy next year."

Collins attends Marquette University High School, but did not play for the volleyball team. He has ran track and field for the Hilltoppers and played baseball his freshman year.

Andy is the son of Mark and Bonnie Collins and will be majoring in business management at UW-Oshkosh.

"I enjoyed attending the UW-Oshkosh summer camps and I felt comfortable there. UW-Oshkosh will give me a great opportunity to play college volleyball and to get a great education. It is a great fit for me," said Collins.

UW-Oshkosh starts its 15th season of collegiate club volleyball in 2007. The Titans are the NIRSA Division I defending national champions and the 2006 NIRSA Division III national runner-ups.
