Oshkosh Pounds Pool Play Opponents (4-14-06)
Day 1
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team dominated its first pool beating #25 Boston University 25-15, 25-15, Purdue University 25-22, 25-12 and #24 San Diego State University 25-18, 25-12 in matches held on Thursday (April 13) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In the opening match Jeff Thomas (Sr. - Madison) led the team with six kills and two service aces and Dan Hessling (Fr. - Greenfield) and Nathan Sederberg (So. - Racine) had five kills each. Andrew Sederberg (Sr. - Racine) added three solo blocks and dished out 23 assists.

The Titans had little trouble against the Boilermakers in the second match by slamming down 27 kills and hitting .534 as a team. Nathan Sederberg and James Bradley (Sr. - Racine) each had seven kills and Thomas added six kills and three service aces. Bradley tallied four digs and three service aces and Andrew Sederberg ran the offense with 18 assists.

UW-Oshkosh started the last match of the day trailing 5-1 before taking charge by outscoring San Diego State University 7-3 to even the score at 8-8. From there the Titans went on a 17-10 run to end the first game.

The second game was completely dominated by UW-Oshkosh. Leading 5-4, Nathan Sederberg served seven straight points, four by service aces to take an 11-4 lead. Storming ahead to a 19-7 advantage the Titans took the second game by hitting .625 and adding four blocks.

Nathan Sederberg and Bradley each had seven kills and Thomas added five kills and five digs. Andrew Sederberg added 22 assists and Mike Semrad (Sr. - Waukesha) added five blocks.

Day 2
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team remained undefeated by going 2-0 on the second day of the NIRSA Division I tournament held on Friday (April 14) in Salt Lake City.

In the Titans power pool they defeated the University of California-Los Angeles 25-19, 25-23 and the University of California-Berkeley 25-12, 25-15 to advance to Saturday's single elimination gold bracket. It is the fourth consecutive year that UW-Oshkosh has reached the gold bracket after finishing fifth in 2003 and 2004 and second last year.

UW-Oshkosh was led by Mike Semrad (Sr. - Waukesha) who had 12 kills on 16 errorless attempts against the Bruins. James Bradley (So. - Racine) added six kills and Nathan Sederberg (So. - Racine) had a team high five digs. Andrew Sederberg (Sr. - Racine) dished out 28 assists and Matt Lewin (Sr. - Waukesha) added three blocks.

Against the Golden Bears Nathan Sederberg had seven kills on 10 errorless attempts and Aaron Wayne (So. - New Berlin) added eight digs. Bradley added six kills and two service aces and Semrad added three blocks and two service aces.
