WVC Honors and Awards (4-9-06)
Andrew Sederberg became the first player in the 14-year history of the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference to be named unanimous most valuable player and become the fourth player from UW-Oshkosh to receive the award. Jim Boos (1997), Dave Boos (1998) and Josh Wagner (2001) are previous Titans winners.
Sederberg was also named the most valuable player last season and was previously named All-WVC First Team in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was named the 2002 WVC newcomer of the year and becomes the first player in UW-Oshkosh history to be named All-WVC First Team five times.
Jeff Thomas was named All-WVC First Team for the fourth time after previously being named to the squad in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Thomas also garnered WVC newcomer of the year in 2001.
Mike Semrad was named All-WVC First Team for the second time after being named the WVC newcomer of the year in 2003. This season he led the WVC in blocks per game and hitting percentage.
Aaron Wayne was named the WVC defensive player of the year with Marquette University's Matt Zwolski. Last season Wayne was named to the All-WVC freshmen team. Nathan Sederberg garnered All-WVC Honorable Mention honors after leading the league in service aces. Last season, Sederberg was named the WVC newcomer of the year.
Daniel Hessling and Chris Schinner also received accolades this season as they were both named to the All-WVC freshmen team. Hessling received the award for his work as a member of the Division I team and Schinner was a starter for the Division II team and was a traveling member of the Division I squad.
