Four Named Midwest 10 All-Conference (4-3-06)
The UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team had four members named to the Midwest Ten Conference all-conference squad announced at the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Conference championship on Saturday (April 1) in Sheboygan.

Andrew Sederberg, a senior from Racine, Wisconsin became the first UW-Oshkosh player to be named the league's most valuable player. He was previously named All-Midwest Ten First-Team in 2002, 2004 and 2005 and was named Honorable Mention in 2003. Sederberg led the Titans to their fourth consecutive Midwest Ten Conference crown earlier in the year with an unblemished 9-0 regular season record and the conference tournament championship.

The Titans won the Midwest Ten Conference regular season title in 2003, 2004 and 2006 and conference tournament titles in 2003, 2005 and 2006.

Mike Semrad, a senior from Waukesha, Wisconsin collected his first All-Midwest Ten First-Team conference award after being named Honorable Mention last season. Semrad was the lone middle blocker to garner a First-Team award this season as he led the team to a .403 team hitting percentage against Midwest Ten Conference opponents.

Aaron Wayne, a sophomore from New Berlin, Wisconsin garnered his first all-conference award as he was named the Midwest Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Last season, Wayne tallied NIRSA Division I Second-team All-American status helping the Titans to a national runner-up finish.

Rounding out the awards was an honorable mention nod for Jeff Thomas, a senior from Madison, Wisconsin. Thomas helped the Titans average 14.8 kills per game in conference play and previously was named All-Midwest Ten Conference First-Team in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

"Having a strong team can be a mixed blessing at times when it comes to handing out conference awards," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "You take any of our starting seven and they would be one of if not the best player on any of the teams in our conference. I am a little puzzled that Jeff only received honorable mention. I am guessing that our team split votes which should be seen as a compliment on the success of our season."

In the eight years of playing in the Midwest Ten Conference the Titans have been named All-Midwest Ten First-Team 12 times and Honorable Mention five times. UW-Oshkosh has also tabbed one Most Valuable Player award and one Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year.
