Recruiting Class Grows (3-23-06)
Bryon Pangborn, a 6-0 setter and leftside hitter from Greenfield, Wisconsin has just announced his intentions on attending UW-Oshkosh and joining the men's volleyball team, said head coach Brian Schaefer. Pangborn joins fellow 2006 recruits Michael Cotter, Aaron Lang, Jeff Piotrowski, Alex Reynolds, Dave Rothering and Eric Waite to this year's recruiting class.
Pangborn was his Greenfield High School's team most valuable player and captain the last two seasons as he garnered all-conference first team recognition in the Southeast/Woodland conference. A starter for four years playing for head coach Kurt Kaempfer, Pangborn was named to the honorable mention all-state team this past fall.
Also involved with the Greenfield basketball and tennis programs, Pangborn is the son of Thomas and Susan and is undecided on his intended major.
"Bryon brings experience and knowledge to the court that will give him an upper hand next year when battling for playing time," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "He has been a huge reason why Greenfield High School has put a name for itself recently in the state for boys volleyball and plays for one of the most competitive clubs in the state. He will be a welcomed addition to our team."
