UW-Oshkosh Hauls In Two More Recruits (3-2-06)
After watching the #1 ranked UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball team beat #6 ranked Marquette University in three games in front of nearly 250 fans, Alex Reynolds knew he made the right choice when picking where he wanted to attend school and play collegiate volleyball.

Reynolds joins Michael Cotter, Aaron Lang, Dave Rothering and Eric Waite as members of the UW-Oshkosh 2006 recruiting class, announced head coach Brian Schaefer.

Reynolds who is undecided on his intended major selected UW-Oshkosh because of the feel of the campus, friendliness when visiting and the successfulness of the men's volleyball program. "It just felt like the right fit for me," said Reynolds. "I think I will fit into the program and it has a lot to offer me."

Reynolds, a 6-0 setter and outside hitter, garnered all-conference honorable mention honors playing for high school head coach Rick Simatic Reynolds has since switched to playing right side hitter for his current South Side Junior Olympic volleyball team. Reynolds, the son of Jeanne and John is also a participant on the South Milwaukee High School swimming and diving team where he was a state qualifier in the 50-yard butterfly, 200-meter medley relay and the 1-meter diving event.

"As always I welcome anybody to the UW-Oshkosh program that has a love for the game and is willing to learn and work hard," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "I know that Alex is that type of young man and he is getting better with every passing day."

Jeffrey Piotrowski, a 5-9 libero from Greenfield High School has announced his intentions of attending UW-Oshkosh in the fall of 2006 and participating on the men's volleyball team, announced head coach Brian Schaefer.

Piotrowski joins Michael Cotter, Aaron Lang, Alex Reynolds, Dave Rothering and Eric Waite in the 2006 UW-Oshkosh recruiting class. Piotrowski, a WIAC honorable mention all-state selection marks the fourth 2006 UW-Oshkosh recruit that has garnered all-state recognition as Lang and Waite were members of the all-state second team and Cotter joined Piotrowski on the honorable mention squad.

Piotrowski, who will be majoring in kinesiology and health was named to the Southeast/Woodland all-conference first team and was mentioned on the all-area second team according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Piotrowski was also named the Greenfield High School defensive Player of the Year playing for head coach Kurt Kaempfer.

"I came to UW-Oshkosh and toured the campus when I was a junior and really liked what I saw," said Piotrowski. "I liked the size of the campus and knew that I wanted to become a Titan." Piotrowski also participates in high school baseball and golf and is the son of Barbara and Kenneth Piotrowski.

"The better the ball control the better team," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "Jeff brings another athletic newcomer to our program. We will be a young team next year so we will need players like Jeff to help us in the back court with tough serving, passing and defense."
