UW-Oshkosh Sweeps Competition on the Road (2-5-06)
Playing its first Wisconsin Volleyball Conference matches away from Kolf Sports Center, the UW-Oshkosh (4-0/4-0 WVC) men's volleyball team swept UW-Stevens Point 30-18, 30-25, 30-26 and UW-La Crosse 30-18, 30-18, 30-27 in matches held on Saturday (Feb. 4) in La Crosse.
UW-Oshkosh, the second ranked team in the NIRSA Division I, averaged 13 kills per game against UW-Stevens Point and hit .378 in the match. Jeff Thomas (Sr. - Madison) and Nathan Sederberg (So. - Racine) each had eight kills and Mike Semrad (Sr. - Waukesha) added seven kills to lead the Titans.
Andrew Sederberg (Sr. - Racine) contributed 36 assists and three blocks, Nathan Sederberg seven digs and Dan Hessling (Fr. - Greenfield) tallied three service aces. The Titans have now beaten UW-Stevens Point 23 straight time with the last defeat coming in 1996.
UW-Oshkosh had little trouble against UW-La Crosse as the team had 48 kills on a .386 hitting percentage. Nathan Sederberg slammed down 10 kills in only two games played to lead the Titans. Mike Semrad added nine kills and Matt Lewin (Sr. - Cudahy) followed closely with eight kills.
Andrew Sederberg paced the offense with 44 assists and added four service aces and a team high eight digs. Nathan Sederberg added four service aces and Aaron Wayne (So. - Racine) scooped up five service aces.
