UW-Oshkosh Gets Third 2007 Recruit (1-23-06)
Dave Rothering, a 6-7 middle blocker from Lyons, Wisconsin has announced his intentions of attending UW-Oshkosh in the fall of 2006. He joins fellow Titans recruits Aaron Lang and Eric Waite as future UW-Oshkosh men's volleyball players.
Rothering was named first-team all-conference this past fall leading his Burlington High School team in the Southeast/Woodland Conference. He was also named to the All-Racine County second team.
Playing for head coach Tim Gesteland, Rothering's league is considering one of the toughest in the state. He is the son of Linda Vanstone and his intended major is business with an emphasis on finance.
"A big part of the reason I decided on UW-Oshkosh is the success of the program and that fact that I will get a chance to play with Aaron Lang," said Rothering. "I'm excited to get started in college." Rothering choose UW-Oshkosh over Clarke College, Cardinal Stritch University and MSOE.
"Dave obviously brings height to our middle blocking position and addresses our graduating needs for next season," said head coach Brian Schaefer. "He has great potential and I look forward to coaching him."
