Updated Friday, Jan. 8 at 10:00am CT   Alumni Weekend '10 On January 8-9, 2010, the Oshkosh Volleyball Program will celebrate the 12th anniversary of alumni weekend. You and your families are officially invited to join us to celebrate the achievements of 2009 which included a women's 3rd place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship and a men's 2nd place finish at the NCCS National Championship, and to ring in the new year. Friday, January 8, 2010 As always, the weekend starts on Friday, Jan. 8 at The Bar of Oshkosh with the weekend kick-off party and Sheephead tournament. All team members (21 and older), alumni, family and friends are welcome. Registration is from 6:30 - 7:00pm and cost is $15. If you don't play cards, don't worry, there are plenty of others that will be there who don't play either, and I don't anticipate the card tournament running as long this year. Saturday, January 9, 2010 Saturday starts off at Albee Hall with a luck-of-the-draw (tournament organizer can be bribed) at 10:00am followed by a women's alumni match (based on attendance) and a men's alumni match. This year we have decided not to have an alumni match against the current men's team, rather matches involving just alumni. The match times will be determined. After playing top-notch volleyball all afternoon, we will be having a dinner at a local establishment (banquet type setting) so that family and friends can have more of an intimate setting to reconnect. After the banquet we will have drinks and fun at the local hot spots around campus. Alumni Dues: Luck of the Draw tournament, alumni matches, dinner and drinks at local establishments is $40 — paid that day. More donations are always appreciated and discounted UW-Oshkosh apparel will be available. All money, after expenses will go to either the men's or women's team. Gruehagen Conference Center across the street from the campus bars has rooms that sleep two people for $25.50. Please call 920-424-1106 for reservations and please mention this event. You do not have to attend all of the gatherings. Some events will change based on when the Green Bay Packers play. Friends and family of the Oshkosh Volleyball program are encouraged to attend.
