Basting to Become a Titan (12-26-14)
Alexander Basting, a 6-2 right side hitter from Franklin, Wisconsin has decided to attend UW-Oshkosh and participate on the men's volleyball team announced head coach Brian Schaefer. Basting joins John Collins (New Berlin) and Matt Pedersen (Muskego) as the third Wisconsin commitment for the 2015-2016 recruiting class.

Basting played for Franklin High School under the tutelage of head coach Chris Dibb where he was a three year varsity starter and a team captain his senior year. Unfortunately a leg injury cut his last season short. He will also be a three year varsity player for the Saber tennis team.

Basting currently plays for Milwaukee Volleyball Club under the direction of Jake Nowak. He is the son of David and Suzanne Basting and is undecided on an intended major.

"I chose UW-Oshkosh for a variety of reasons and I am looking forward to playing for a winning program and taking my game to the next level," said Basting.

"Our annual summer volleyball camp had a ton of talent this year," said Schaefer. "Alex, as well as our other two commitments attended and saw the type of program we run. It has been a work in progress, but the word is out that collegiate club volleyball plays at an extremely high level."

"Alex is one of the guys that every coach wants on his team," added Schaefer. I strongly feel that is the culture at UW-Oshkosh. He works hard, is a great teammate and because of his injury can't wait to get going again. I am excited that he will be calling Oshkosh home."
